USB OTG Drive "has faults".

Every time I use my Verbatim USB OTG drives in my Hudl 2, then plug them into my PC, I get a message saying the drive has faults.
When I let Windows check and correct the faults, it reports no faults found, after which I can insert and remove them without problems, until of course, I plug them back into my Hudl, then it report faults again, when I plug them into my PC.
Anyone got any ideas what is going on?

Won't they work regardless of the error message?
I have an Android based media player and any drive used in that gets a Windows fault warning (forget exact text) but it will still work fine in both windows machines and the media player without doing anything. Letting windows scan the drive never results in any fault being found.
A slight PITA for me which I pretty much ignore. Having to do a scan before the thing worked would be very annoying though. I suspect it must be because there doesn't appear to be a quick drive unmount in Android although I suspect there is one in settings. There could even be an app I suppose.

Yes they will, but I don't like the idea that something untoward may be happening to the drive. It seems you are supposed to do this...

Thanks.
I'll try that next time, if I can remember.
