what is 6 months car tax?
Just received a reminder that car tax is due for renewal at the end of June. The options on the letter are to pay 12 months, declare SORN, or 6 months. 12 months is £30, and there are no prices next to SORN or 6 months.
It doesn't seem likely that 6 months car tax is free, but what is it? Is it if you expect to sell the car or something?

If the full 12 months tax is £30, then 6 months is not available:https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-registered-on-or-after-1-march-20010

For some people it's useful if you have a car that spends half the year off the road. But when a vehicle is SORN the DVLA are sh*t hot at sending cars out to check they cannot find the vehicle on or near a road, if they do then you get a nasty fine.
My car I think the VED is £270 for 12months, or £150 for 6 months.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The 6 months option wasn't available when I paid online. I just thought it odd to have on the letter without a price.0
