Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Horrendous journey back from my friends yesterday. It took us 2 1/2 hours to do a 40 minute journey, it pelted down, so much surface water, it was raining so fast the windscreen wipers had a job to cope.
It's still raining this morning, it's the village fete, guess they will have to have it indoors if it does not dry up. The village hall is off bounds, there is a caravan rally on the field and they get to use the hall.
Still in b d, late waking up. OH brought my breakfast for me. I need to stir my stumps and get up.0 -
The scratches across all four panels of my car were polished off in about 10 minutes flat - I'm so chuffed. The bloke didn't want to charge me but I insisted on it, he did such a good job.
There's been five minutes of rain and then it stopped so the garden will need watering again.0 -
Hi everyone,
Raining hard here and has been for a while.DGC have been having a painting session but its all cleaned up again now :DDGD has gone back home now ,she goes on her hols on Monday so wont see her for a couple of weeks.I'm hoping DGS had a little sleep in the car as he was getting cranky. He's here until teatime tomorrow & DS has asked if I mind if he goes to watch football at the pub tonight once he's gone to sleep ;)His other grandparents take over tomorrow teatime until Monday afternoon when hes back again. His Mum gets back off her trip on Tuesday.DS was hoping to tire him out in the park but no chance with this weather.
I made a chicken curry for tea last night, think we'll have gammon tonight, quick and easy.
I've sent off for a paperback copy of the BS diet book, finding it too faffy on my kindle-I love it for fiction but should have remembered I dont like cookbooks on it.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good Afternoon everyone, it's a still and humid day out there today but made bearable by a light pattering of drops of warm rain which is nice on bare arms. Just had such a lovely walk with Cookie, because it's so still out there the perfume from the flowers in the gardens is hanging in the air particularly the honeysuckle and the roses which is so nice particularly a whole hedge of deep pink, pale pink and white Rosa Rugosa whose perfume is very heady and will give us masses of big fat red rose hips in the autumn. Just going to make us a cuppa, He Who Knows has put us in a row of peas in the garden, the ones in the polutynnel have nearly finished but have been delicious. We were going to visit a local fair on the village green today but decided not to as it feels like we might get some of the predicted heavy showers, better off at home.
Hope you've had a lovely day, Lyn xxx.0 -
Good morning chums, bit overcast but quite warm today.Good day yesterday with lots of laughter and discussions about historical bandits. The Ned Kelly one especially.
My tutor had made me a beautiful coffee and walnut cake bless her so tonight when I'm at DDs looking after the boys 'we shall have cake':):)
I stopped off at the new poundland on the way home to get some 'goodies' for tonight as its 'naughty night with Nanna' DD and my son-in-law are going off up to norwich tonight They have an overnight stay and dinner in Norwich then pick up and drive DGS Ben home tomorrow:):)
Whilst in Poundland I spotted ten geraniums for £2.00 which were a good bargain and brought them home and planted up in pots on the patio. While planting them up the young couple next door were having a BBQ and young Scarlett stuck her head over the fence and said would you like a burger as Jamie is cooking.I said oh lovely thank you very much' so I was pleased to have such a nice burger cooked for me by him.She handed it over and I soon tucked into it with a plate of salad.
They are such a nice young couple and yesterday was their little girl layla's fifth birthday and she was showing me all her presents.Apparently they are having a marquee in the garden as half of her class is coming on Sunday afternoon and Scarlett apologised for any noise. But I told her I'm not bothered buy children having a good time and they can be as noisy as they want to beI shall be away at DDs anyway looking after three of my DGS for the day:):):) But even if I wasn't I love to hear kids having a good time .The little girls are lovely children and the whole family are delightful.I am so lucky having such nice neighbours now .
No going out today until I go to DDs around five thirty, so I shall be finishing off my ironing and probably watching Versailles on catch-up tv.
Hope you all have a good weekend what ever you are doing
Cheers chums
Roll on tomorrow as our Ben will be home from Uni:):)

I know the Ned Kelly area quite well, our son used to live in Glenrowan, and now lives in the nearest town. The folks that live there are very mixed, to some he's a folk hero, to others a criminal. Fascinating story.Carolbee0 -
Indeed carolbee we found it very interesting, discussing how people's attitudes change with time, and how, as time passes, a lot of robbers and bandits who were really were quite shocking, people become almost 'hero's. We also talked about Robin Hood and did he exist, and how The Krays have been almost sanitised with time. Nowt so queer as folk that's for sure. Just waiting for DGS to arrive home from their sister's where they have been all day.DD and son-in-law are well on their way to Norwich.I'm about to watch this weeks Versailles on my lap-top
