I bought a Dell 1501 Inspiron laptop a little while back it cam with 1024mb of RAM AMD Turion(tm) 65 X2 Mobile Technology TL-561.80Ghz
I notice dell was selling it with 2048mb ram which added on about £100 onto the price.
Is it possible to do this yourself cheaper?
Would it be worth doing this ?
Is it easy to do?
If so were/which ram would be best to get ?

Scan your computer with Crucial http://www.crucial.com/uk/?gclid=CK6gtZv4tY4CFQHtlAodAgeyyg
That will tell you what Ram you need. Then you can look on internet if its cheaper somewhere else.0 -
There is normally a small bay/ compartment on the bottom of the laptop that is secured with a screw. (You have to find the right one though as there may be a few).
If you can find this and open it you should be able to see a location for one of these:
cards
If the slot is empty then you just need to purchase one and plug it in. If it's got a card in it already you would have to buy a 2Gb card and swap them over.
You could try the scanner here:

to find the memory type and then use pricerunner or something similar to get a cheap price.0
