Sandtex colour charts not accurate

I've been looking for masonry paint, and as wanted a red colour, choose Sandtex Smooth Brick Red - it was nothing like the colour charts or sample squares in the shops, and looked horrible on my wall and certainly wasn't red. So I bought Hot Brick and it turned out a bright pink colour. You would have needed sunglasses to look at it !!
Can anyone recommend a masonry paint that looks like a traditional red and not the pinks and terracotas which, for some reason, are termed 'red'.

Can't recommend any but colour charts for all paints are notoriously inaccurate and much also depends on the substrate.
Don't they do test pots as they do for interior emulsion?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Glad I had bought tester pots first and tried them on a few bricks, which was enough to know the colours were unbelievably inaccurate and looked really bad and not what I wanted.
So, am now going to B&Q where they have a Valspar mix and match machine. I'll take in a sample of the colour I want but the downside is it's £34 for 5 litres as against their current promotion which is 10 litres for £39 for Sandtex standard shades, which isn't very moneysaving.0
