Green Parking at Bracknell rail station

Hi,

I recently parked at Bracknell rail station. There is a car park nearby (I don't think it is on station property) that is operated by Green Parking.
In my rush for the train, I made a simple mistake with the RingGo app and did not put enough time on the parking. It was a work journey so I claim back the money, so I am not interested in dodging payment!
Got back to the car and found a PCN on the windscreen.
I've read the newbie sticky and am following the instructions set out there.
But one question I had, which I would appreciate some guidance on, please, is that on their web site they have the following friendly statement:

Green Parking recognise that customers can make a genuine mistake in forgetting to pay for a parking period. Should this have happened, please email [EMAIL="appeals@green-parking.co.uk"]appeals@green-parking.co.uk[/EMAIL] with the Parking Charge Notice reference number and details of when and where it was issued together with your reason for non-payment and we will endeavour to look into the matter for you on a without prejudice basis.

Is this worth a shot or is it just a ploy to admit who was driving?

You could include a line about what happened as long as you say 'we' rather than saying who was driving.
