Uh huh. So... first of all it was YOU and not me complaining about employers not acting as you would wish them to. But actually, yes, I do live in a world where employers come to me and answer my questions. Although most of them are doing so in the hope that they don't get chosen.

But there you go again - "it's all about them". Of course it is. Because it is their job, they are interviewing for it and they can do as they damned well please because it is their job. If you haven't understood that then you haven't understood the slightest thing about interviews.

And when you get told something you don't like, you threaten people do you? Well good luck PMing me - the facility is disabled and always has been.

I suspect it is rather obvious by now why you can't get through the interviews, but the only person on the thread who can't see it is you.

Of course, job interviews are to find out about the employer (and whether you would be happy to work there), as much as they are finding out about you and whether they would be happy for to you to work for them.

You'd be surprised - well I was first time I was involved in recruitment - how many people either completely ignore the person specification and descriptions that were so carefully prepared, read them with very rose tinted glasses/read what they want them to say, or write a really carefully crafted application to try to make it look as though they meet the requirements when they really aren't even close and are wasting both their and the recruiters' time. Though to be fair, there probably are lots of people who do read properly and decide not to apply, but we never know about them.

Well, people are under huge pressure from the DWP to apply fr as many jobs as possible.
Therefore, what you describe is not surprising.

I'm asking this because again I am going to interviews and finding that interviewers are usually - if not always - pre-occupied in some kind of way
Just a possibility, could it be that you waffle on? That would certainly lead to interviewers starting to look pre-occupied or more accurately distracted.

Not if you are unemployed they are not! If you are unemployed, as the OP is, then they are about getting a job.

And even if you aren't unemployed, very few employers care, because there is a queue of people behind you willing to take the job if you don't (assuming you get offered it in the first place). So most employers aren't really vaguely interested in whether you will be happy to work there. Frankly, you have to be very, very good to call the shots at an interview in the way that the OP wants to. And there is no indication, despite their own belief, that the OP is that good. And clearly the people interviewing them aren't seeing it either.

You come across as incredibly arrogant and cocky in your posts (rather than confident), so if that comes across at all in interviews, it is probably why you will get feedback about 'not fitting in with the team'.

I used to do graduate recruitment and turned down arrogant characters, even if they were really strong applicants. They would annoy too many people and cause problems!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Would it kill you to think that I actually BELIEVE in these words? ie. presentable, self-motivated, creative solver, diligent, always on time, etc. what words should I use instead?

    It wouldn't kill me, no.

You should use buzz words sparingly, and you should avoid using terms like "always on time" and "presentable" because those are basic givens, rather than selling points!

Try to talk about traits that apply only to you, rather than most of the general working population.

And anyway, after the number of tests I've been through, what do I need to prove to you??

You don't need to prove anything to me. You do apparently need to prove something to those interviewers.

I'm not lashing out honey, I'm disagreeing. We can still be friends. :x

Well, you come across as if you are lashing out. Maybe that's something to reflect on in itself - people on this post are selling you that you sound cocky and arrogant. If you don't think you are cocky and arrogant, then there's clearly a problem in how you portray yourself and that's what you need to work on.

I suggest you film or record yourself using a webcam or phone, then play it back and reflect on how you are coming across to others. There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and a fine line between enthusiasm and being downright irritating. Think about the language you used and if it would sound more likeable phrased in a slightly different way. Then have another go and reassess.

If you have a friend who would be brutally honest with you, get them to look at it and tell you how you come over.

It's very hard to spot your own shortcomings.

Although it can take a while (and subsequent interviews) to find that your face fits, when interviewing I (and colleagues) find it takes only about a minute and a half to find that your face doesn't fit.

My guess is that your face doesn't fit. You won't get a company to admit this so expect generic "other candidates had a more appropriate profile" rejections.

You joked about aftershave but..... are you sweaty? Did you present an overfirm or limp lettuce handshake? Did you make enough/too much eye contact? Do you have bad breath? Are you clean shaven or have a well trimmed beard?

You'd be surprised at how easily you can be rejected due to the above reasons no matter how sharp your suit and CV are.

Oh and you really are coming across here as on the arrogant side of assertive - is that your personality in real life?

Come to think of it, ALL my interviewers have been women so far. And the entire HR team are all women. On the bottom end there are mostly men, and on the top end there are universally men. So maybe there's a trick to that.

I'm intrigued what you mean by this, what is the trick to that?

(Are you Greek by any chance?)
