Slightly different.

Parked in a private car park just before Christmas, paid for a ticket, displayed it and came back before the ticket had expired.

Noticed a Parking charge Noticed on the windscreen for parking outside the marked bay. The car was parked one from the end of a row of spaces, next to a space not long enough for a car to park legally that is never used.

I have photos to back this up but the rear wheel was on the white line between spaces by about 2cm. It is difficult to tell as the surface is loose and damaged. The front wheel, well the white line is barely visible as the surface is mostly gravel.

At the time of the 'offence' I read all the advice on here and sent a reply to EXCEL saying that I was the registered keeper and appealed to them saying that the markings were insufficient. They rejected my appeal so following the advice here, I ignored all their further letters.

Now I have letters from BW Legal of Leeds threatening court action (unlikely I know but possible) and today a 'phone call at home from BW Legal.

Is it too late to appeal to the trade body? My instinct is to not engage with BW Legal as, if it went to Court their case is fairly flimsy.

Any advice? I'm fairly unflappable but I'm getting slightly concerned.

Thank you.

It is actually quite likely...search the forum for BW Legal Excel.

Yes. Respond to BW Legal like you'll see discussed on other threads recently. There was one yesterday.

I cannot imagine Mr Justice Bandycockle being impressed by a claim for damages for parking 2cm over a white line. I would be inclined to tell them to go forth and multiply.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Has a useful link to another BW Legal thread too, showing a robust response to their drivel letter.
