New laptop and blue screen errors

I have a laptop about a week old and it keeps showing me a blue screen and telling me it has to close. It has Windows 10 installed.
Also the Windows update is stuck on 74% and refuses to move.
Any suggestions?

If it's only a week old, any reason not to take it back to the shop and tell them to fix it ?0

Are those two events happening at the same time?0

I was going to but I have just put Malwarebytes on and I already have a subscription to McAffee so that is on there as well.0 -
A bit more info - I can download the one that is sticking manually because I know its number (KB3156387) but it asks me where I want to put it and I have no idea!0

Likely part of the problem. Windows 10 doesn't need these 3rd party tools and they certainly get in the way when peforming updates.
Factory reset, then let Windows 10 update and keep the install clean, just using Defender and Windows anti-malware0 -
Well everything is fine now because I also subscribe to Office 365 and that would not load after I had installed it so I went to their support site.
They took control of the laptop remotely and now it is perfect (I hope).0
