Laminate flooring. Is 12mm worth paying extra compared to 8mm

    Check if you are allowed a hard floor surface under the Lease... Laminates/wood can add considerable noise to a flat (the UK term for apartment) and annoy your (tenant's) neighbours. So some leases require carpets to be fitted (usually except in bathrooms and kitchens),

    The laminate underlay used can sometimes help with noise and level matching as they have a variety of thicknesses.
