Credit card for overseas travel - confusion re. fees

Try Creation Everyday0

Bummer. I spent ages deliberating over which card to apply for without thinking about the possibility that I might be turned down.
Are there are any cards that are good for overseas use that I can apply for with my limited credit history? I travel at the end of this month and will be away for 5 months, so it would be helpful to be able to get a decent card before then.
The eligibility tool on here tells me that I have a 70% chance of getting the Halifax Clarity - not sure how accurate it is... Should I worry about the impact on my credit rating if I apply and find I am rejected?
Edit: Creation Everyday looks good. Perhaps I'll apply for that.0 -
Aqua reward might be good but likely to be low limits.0

if you have regularly used credit then you have as much chance as anyone else in getting the clarity card. You could always apply and see what happens but a search will appear on your credit history. If you're turned down, then you will have to apply for another card or use your debit card. You definately shouldn't apply for more than 2 otherwise you look desperate for credit.0

For alternatives to credit cards for overseas use, fee-free and interest-free, have a look at the N&P BS debit card and the Revolut prepaid MasterCard:

https://revolut.com/
Metrobank issues a debit card that's fee-free in Europe
I use all of these. Never rely on only one source of funds when traveling.Evolution, not revolution0 -
I have a capital one platinum card that gives me fee free spending abroad.
The limit was only £250 to begin with and took a year for the first limit increase so not ideal if you are planning to travel soon.0 -
No, I don't think so.I have a capital one platinum card that gives me fee free spending abroad.
'Non-Sterling transaction fee: 2.75%. Cash fee £3.00 (min 3%)'

I don't get any non sterling transaction fees.
Perhaps the terms have changed since I opend my account.0 -
So you got the Mastercard rate with no markup? You can check here:I don't get any non sterling transaction fees.
Perhaps the terms have changed since I opend my account.
