Ibiza in October half term?

As per subject, what will the weather be like? Will the bars and restaurants be open? Will the hotels still run kids' activities? I'm not bothered about clubbing.

I've been in early October before and it'd definitely cooled, many summer only businesses close at the end of September, sometimes earlier. If it's a package holiday hotel they should have kid's clubs, but check their small print.

If you pick a busier resort then you should be ok with at least some bars and restaurants being open, but October half term basically marks the end of the season. Try posting on the trip advisor forums you may get more info on this.

Weather is anyones guess. I've been in Mallorca in October and its been mid 20s in the day and sunburn, and still ok for shorts at night. Another year in Ibiza in late September and it was raining a few days. Warm rain, but definitely rain!

Balearics is a rain risk in October.

I've had the occasional glorious week there. Last year I got wet.

Are there things to do in the rain? I've had plenty of wash-out British holidays but we usually found things to do.
  • We've been to Ibiza in the Oct half term and it's definitely quieter! I would recommend Santa Eulalia or Playa den Bossa x

Weather wise - it's hit or miss. It can reach mid twenties but gets chilly at night and likely to rain.

We always go away in Oct term - much prefer it x

Costa Blanca, Costa Almeria, Costa Del Sol and Costa de la Luz are all sunnier than the Balearics, I'd look at these and the Canaries instead of Ibiza.

We did San Antonio in the October half term a few years ago. Weather was great during the day (on the beach) but a light cardi and lightweight trousers during the evening. SA was lovely (clubs had all closed for the Winter) but still some places open to eat and drink in. We hired a car and loved the fact all the resorts were quite empty. We had a day on the beach at Platja en Bossa and were just about the only people. If you like the idea of less people then go for it. :)

Less people would be good. No people at all and everything closed would be bad. It sounds like it could work out though. Costwise it seems like we could get into a 4 star all inclusive resort for about £2500 for the four of us, which is much cheaper than in the summer.

How much is the same in Marbella or Fuengirola?

You could get that in the southern Costas and the canaries for the same price, with guaranteed weather and more shops/bars open.
