Claiming as an Executor

Hello,
I've been looking into claiming PPI for a deceased relative. I know she held a number of store cards and three mortgages but i am unsure of the account numbers. I understand most companies can search without these but the majority that I've spoken to are unable to offer a service for executor claims. Does anyone know of any companies or who could help search? Or equally, if you have advise for me going ahead with the claim myself?
Thanks,

What evidence do you have of PPI being attached to the mortgages? Or are you just on a fishing trip?0 -

The executor of the estate can make a complaint. However, they need to satisfy some identification needs first and prove they are the executor.
The complaint is limited in what it can be. For example, allegations of what may or may not have been said won't work as you were not there. You can only stick to factual reasons that may apply.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
On a fishing trip I must admit!
Yeah, I would be able to pass the identification needs. What factual reason do you mean, would this be difficult to prove?0 -
Dunstonh means the factual reason why you believe your relative should not have been sold PPI0

A company will not find anything you can't and will not use any other complaints process than the one you will.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

If there was any ppi attached to any of the mortgages or cards, what factual complaint(s) would you have? ie. in what way was the insurance unsuitable?0 -
What factual reason do you mean
You'll have to find solid factual evidence that the insurance was mis-sold. This means finding out if the insurance was suitable for her circumstances.
Of course, all of this pre-supposes that she even had any PPI policies. You may well fall at the first hurdle if the store cards and mortgages were closed years ago since there may no longer be any records of her finance.
Claims companies are not investigative agents, all they do is represent you in any complaint you might make. It'll therefore be you who'll have to establish if PPI was paid and, if so, whether it was mis-sold. So don't sign up to any company, whatever they promise to "find out".0
