Things to do in Skegness

Options
Any recommendations for things to do in Skegness next week. Will be myself, partner our 1 year old daughter and another couple with a nearly 2 year old daughter.

Obviously the cheaper the better but if there are place people know where we can get 2 4 1 vouchers and the like that be great.

I was there yesterday and it was bit cold and windy and the beach was deserted . There seems to be about 12 chip shops all bunched together and I tried one and it was very nice. The beach looked ok and there was a sign advertising Donkey rides for children but it was too cold for them to be out I think.
The town has a reasonable shopping centre and an aquarium.

We went a few years ago, was impressed, there are things to do for all ages,

Look at the leaflets you see in the foyers of hotels, there are often 2 for 1 or even down the buy one coffee and get another drink free.
Im sure you will have a lovely time...

There is a fairground not too far away and a bus to Ingoldmelds..
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

if you head towards the main shopping centre which is called Hildreds they have racks of leaflets with vouchers in. On the main sea front the tourist information office does too. Ingollmells is just a short drive away with its large market. Theres a McDonalds there and lots of arcades and chip shops. You'll have a lovely time im sure. Butlins is certainly worth going for the day for the swimming pool and they have a little fair for the children which is all included in the price. I highly recommend the pool there.

If it's a nice day then there is the fairy dell in Skegness by the boating lake that's free, it's a lovely paddling area. There is also a soft play area in Lucky Strike and also in the Pier.

Don't bother with the aquarium, it's overpriced and you can walk around it in 30 min.

I'm used to going to Skeg with 10-15yr olds, but thinking back to what they'd have liked there as toddlers, I'd second the donkeys, and the fairy dell paddling pool. Also not far from that is a small model village (if you decide to go to the Aquarium, they do a ticket that gets you into the model village too and also gives you a boat ride).

On the pier there is a soft play area inside the arcade (though I'm not sure that your kids won't still be a bit young, so maybe the others mentioned would be better) and a couple of small rides just outside. There's also the Seal Sanctuary at the northern end of the town.

If you have your own transport (we're always on public transport so haven't gone out of town) there is Hardys Animal Farm, Gibraltar Point (nature reserve) if the weather is nice, and probably a few more places I haven't found yet.
