Anyone recommend black stuff/paint for my tyres which are looking really tired?

If they are looking that bad, aren't you better with new tyres?0

autosmart highstyle (edited as i put the interior product down rather than the specific tyre one)
best product ive used in 30 years
see if its available off the bay, but its cheaper off the van if you see one in your area0 -
Nothing wrong with the tyres - just scruffy! Tried scrubbing them but look the same when dry. I've got an mot next week and I like to think that a clean will help!!!
Thanks for all replies.0 -
I don't see the point of this stuff, unless you're selling the car or putting it into some car show or something. Keeping your car looking good is one thing but this is a bit OTT imho. It also ends up over your nice, clean alloys after a few drives.0

I keep my car clean but it hate that tyre black stuff and never use it
Polishing your tyres isn't going to help them get through an mot
They are either legal or not0 -
I'm the opposite. Hate the faded tyre look.0

Clean tyres ain't gonna make a jot of difference to the MOT - it's objective, not subjective.
But as an aside, and if you're just wanting to smarten things up, I did hear a tip years ago about using ordinary black shoe polish on tyre walls to tart them up. Supermarket own-brand or whatever, nothing fancy. Cheap 'n' cheerful.0 -
Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing - reasonably cheap, looks good, stays just on the tyres.
But it won't help pass an MOT - this sort of product is cosmetic only.0 -
+1 for the Autoglym Tyre Dressing.
I use it and like it because it's not a horrid high-gloss wet-look finish.
It simply makes the tyres look like new.
But won't do anything towards passing an MOT0 -

Not if you let it dry first
I use it regularly on my cars, but then i like the cars to be clean and well polished, so jet black tyres sets that off.0
