Rental agency undertook work without permission

Not sure if contract says fully managed. They did say they thought they had asked permission from me for the work to be done and then found they hadn't and apologised for this. Not sure if that suggests it isn't fully managed.
Anyway, I have emailed them and asked for a copy of the contract.
Many thanks
If they thought they had asked permission, then it can't be fully managed.Fair point, I should have a copy, but been with them for 10 years or so, so not sure where it is.
Have they done this before in the 10 years you have had them managing the property? Do you usually carry out your on maintenance? Who organises the yearly gas safety check?
I would WRITE to them stating that you did not give permission for any maintenance to be carried out, as this was something you could do yourself, so are not willing to pay such an amount.
I would then work out what it would have cost YOU in materials, and offer to pay that,or they can remove the alarms and you will do the work yourself.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

I don't thin kthat the fact they theought they had asked necessarily means that they don't have a contract to fully manage. It may suggest it, and it certianly suggests that they have a policy of checking with landlords before carrying out work, but it is perfectly possible that they would normally check with the landlord before going ahead in any event, even where they are managing the property, precisely to avoid this type of dispute. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
