The advantage is you are renting and can move, me on the other bought (mortgage), 8 Yeats ago, biggest regret I have made (very tight budget and spur of the moment), selling not an option\waste of time as there are now 5 houses in my street and none sold. Put if up for rent and it will gone straight away, but no chance I want to be a landlord.

Worse part this was in 2007 and crash happened after

This happened to us too. We were stuck there for five years and I can honestly say I detested every moment, although in theory it was a very nice house - 4 bed, detached, period house, large garden - but the location (to the side there was an old style function rooms that became a noisy gig venue not long after we bought) and traffic noise were horrendous. We made a loss when we sold too. If only we'd been renting!

OP, hopefully as you say you'll move again......and at least you're in the right location.

Yes, had this a few years ago. My partner and I were incredibly happy in the flat we lived, but then the landlord decided to sell. We would have loved to have bought that place but were just not in a position to do so. The flat we moved into next simply didn't compare to our previous flat, and we never did really come around to like the place. So 6 months later we moved again, found a place we really liked and are still there 2.5 years later.

Whilst it's much more sensible to stick out the 6 months in this place, you'll probably start looking for somewhere to move to in about 4 months or so. Once you've found a new place you'll have that to look forward to which will hopefully make your last 1-2 months in your current place a bit easier as well.
