30th birthday themes?

Hello.

Its my sisters 30th birthday soon and I am racking my brains trying to think of a theme for her birthday party. There will be between 20 and 30 people, at her house. Need to organize food and drink and some kind of theme.

I dont know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas? It needs to be put together very easily because shes away until the day before the party.

Shes quite girly and hates fancy dress and karaeoke (sp). Anyone got any ideas? Something easy fun and funky would hit the spot! I need to be kind because anything nasty could come back to bite me!

What about a colour - such as pink or silver?

Or maybe 70's/80's as she was born/grew up then - would make party food very easy (things on sticks, sausage rolls etc) - wine could be mateus rose or blue nun, and music could be of the era, with a glitterball to add effect. Fancy dress optional.

Thanks Trow. I'd be disowned if I took either of those wines to her house - she's a wine buyer for a living!!

Thanks for starting this thread. It's my 30th next year, and I'd also love to hear people's ideas for a themed party (also 20-30 people), or even a cheapish weekend away for 10-15 people. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a suitable idea for family and friends (some of whom have small children) and have drawn a blank so far! There must be some good ideas out there!

Am in the same boat - my best pal is 30 this year and thinking of doing her a 1977 themed box of goodies!
could you do a glamour theme? everyone wear feather boas? or a hat party? my cousins did one last year and you couldn't help having a great time with all the silly hats!

What about James Bond? Guys in fancy suits and girls dressed up. Not really fancy dress.

Can have casino with cocktails and nibbles!

I am 30 in a year and a bit and I am going to have a James Bond theme party with casino bits etc! You could make a photo board up with a pic from every year of her life.
