Hacker kitchen price

Options
We are building a new house and have started to look at kitchen ideas. We went to howdens a few months back to get an idea and I hated the design. It was so boring and lacked imagination. The quote was 12K for units, quartz worktop, two ovens, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
from the beginning I've liked German kitchens as I like the Matt/satin finish and the true handle less after some persuading my partner is convinced but the price has to be right.
We went into our local independent retailer where they sell hacker kitchens. The first set of plans weren't great (designer wasn't there so details were passed on) after I spoke to him and showed lots of photos of what I like he has shown some more designs but still need some work. The price was 22k for 9 units (2x 80cm drawers, 3x60cm units, 2x 40cm drawers, 2x oven housing) 5 wall units with lighting in selves. Granite worktop, two Neff ovens and a Neff dishwasher. Does that seem reasonable?
Also I was after black satin units with a high polished black granite with stainless plinths and where 'handles' are. The room is having a light concrete floor and white walls with two sets of bifold doors but he thinks it will be too black?

MEssage me directly if you like advise on Hacker.

On the colours, I dont think black satin and polished black granite works.

Our independent retailer has been excellent in breaking down all costs for us so we can choose between the different items. e.g. he provided a quote for all of the kitchen but broke out separately the cost of all of the appliances, the worktops and the fitting.

We could then see what the actual kitchen cost was going to be, which actually we thought was very reasonable! Appliances and worktops together were £14k which included (all Siemens) hob, 2 x full size all singing all dancing ovens, extractor, dishwasher, fridge, freezer. Is your agent able to do that, then you can see exactly how the cost is allocated.
  • Thank you for the replies.
Actually bouncydog1 you reminded me that did include hob, Gutman extractor and quooker 3 in 1 tap which I know aren't cheap. Appliances are 3k. Units 7.7k. Worktop 6.7k. Sink and fitting 1.8k. Installation 1.5k and miscellaneous 2k. Obviously after a quote from Howdens with a lot more units and 10k cheaper than an independent retailer I want to make sure the quality is there with Hacker?

There's a huge thread somewhere on here about German kitchens including reference to Hacker. There's also one about Howdens. Try searching?

One thing with the German stuff they seem to have units not available in the UK ranges the combined catalogue would take ages going through looking for stuff to choose as accessories.

Don't know how easy it is to get the catalogue.
  • I've been quoted 8K ex vat for x17 units - mix of tall (four), base, couple of reduced height wall units and pan drawers. I'm looking around to see how it matches other suppliers.

I would be interested to know who is prepared to sell just units. We are looking for just that with no appliances or worktops but most places just not interested if they can't sell us the whole package and presumable add a considerable profit on the appliances and worktops. Has anyone come across companies that will sell units only?

I am surprised no one wants to sell you just units.

As a retailer, they are my dream customer as I do not have the hassle of managing the installation, an essential part of our service offering on which we make virtually no money. If only all customers approaching me were supply only

Ryder72 would you be prepared to share your location and the make of units that you sell? Or via PM?
