Yahoo suddenly unavailable via android...

Yahoo and Yahoo mail have suddenly become unavailable from my android tablet/wifi.

Keep getting message 'unable to establish secure connection'. Other websites no problem and fixed line to desktop pc works fine.

I have done nothing to provoke this. Any ideas as to which particular piece of fixing-something-which-ain't-broke geekery at Yahoo might be behind it..?

No problems getting onto Yahoo or Yahoo mail on an Android phone with Chrome (Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.1), have you tried other https sites on the tablet?

Try pressing the square at the bottom
That will open the application list
Long press on the browser window
That should open the application information window
    Press "force close"
Then look for the "clear cache" button and press it.

Wait a few seconds then press the circle icon the bottom to go back to the home screen

    Now try the site again.

I've never tried this before, but it doesn't work in 6.0.1.

It should work! It works on my 6.0 phone...

If not then just go to settings, then apps, then select the browser from the list.
Then in its app info page, then force close and empty cache.

    Then try the site again.

Maybe it's a phone specific feature then rather than an Android one, my phone is a Nexus 5X so as vanilla as it's possible to be.

PS I'm not the OP so I don't need to do it, I was just intrigued to try the method and then puzzled when it didn't work.

The three at the bottom (triangle circle and square) are standard android controls.

The square is used to access the "recent and running" apps as standard.

Short press take you to the app

Long press on the apps in the recent and running screen (on the title bar for the app or the image if the app screen ) should take you to its apps settings page.

Well I can assure you that it does not work that way on my phone. A long press does nothing until it's released, when the resulting action is the same as if it had been a short press. Which is why I think it can't be an Android feature.

My Alcatel Android (very basic) and Mum's Sony Android work in the way that s0litare described.
