Win 10 & Corel Draw X4

Coral Draw X4 worked perfectly for me on Windows 7, 8 & 8.1.
Then I upgraded to Windows 10 and the menus at the top of the screen no longer worked. The suggested fix was an update to CD X4, upgrade version 2, but when it was applied this stopped the task menu of Windows 10 working. I tried everything under the sun to cure this problem but nothing worked and I had to use system restore to go back to the moment before the Coral draw update was applied.
Just to make sure that it was the Corel Draw patch that caused this problem I went through the whole process again and had to roll back windows once more using system restore.
Has anyone else seen this problem and have a fix for it?

Sorry this isn't a cure but just to say that you are not alone in experiencing a problem with CorelDraw menus after upgrading to Windows 10.
I didn't have your version of CorelDraw. It was the Home and Student version of X15. Good enough for my purposes. After the W.10 upgrade, CorelDraw continued working but the Menu Bar turned white, so giving white lettering on a white background. I got in touch with Corel Support but ultimately, it just came down to needing a later version of CorelDraw. This could be the same for yourself.
I am now using X17 Home & Student and this is running OK on Windows 10 ..with just one problem. If opting to start CorelDraw with the Welcome Screen, the program hangs. Not insurmountable because all that has to be done is to choose a different option (open with a new document, existing document etc).
I don't know if CorelDraw is your only option for a drawing program but 'Xara Photo & Graphics Designer' and 'Serif DrawPlus' are very good. 'Inkscape' (free) is a pretty capable vector program too.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0 -
I know it is there in Windows 7 but not sure about W10 but have you tried compatibility mode?0
