Old Credit Cards

Hi everyone, I'm new to this so please be gentle......I wondered if anyone knew of any way to check if old credit cards have been properly closed?I use interest free purchase cards and usually get a new one as soon as the interest free period runs out but in the past I have had some nightmares getting banks to completely close the account.I'm guessing this affects my future borrowing??Any advice gratefully received.....

1. Ask for a letter confirming closure when you close it.
2. Check your credit reports (with Experian, Equifax*, & CallCredit*) to ensure they're marked as "settled".
* Free with Clearscore and Noddle respectively.0 -
ok, thanks.so some of them were a long time ago so can't even remember who they were all with so I guess I should go down the report route. Are the two you mention the type where you get a month free and you have to unsubscribe etc.?Also, does checking affect the score at all?cheers0
