EBay 20 "Free Listings" Cant be Used?

I normally have 20 free listings each month but for the past 2 months, without accepting the change myself, the free listings seem to be superceded with 100 free listings per day but getting charged a listing fee if the item sells.

How can EBAY do this without me accepting their "offer". I am quite content just with the 20 free listings each month that I have but now cant use them as theres no way I will list 100 items per month never mind 100 every day.

Has anyone else had this issue crop up?

The 100 free listings is the same as the 20 free listings, list for free with fees only when you sell, you just have the option of listing more.

You can use as many or little as you like, same as with the 20 free listings offer. You are not forced to use them all.

Thanks for the reply. I am a still a bit confused! The header on the promo read only pay when you sell - I immediately thought this meant the listing fee for each item. With the 20 free items I would not pay a listing fee at all I thought?

The same issue arose last month when the promo indicated EBAY were charging a listing fee with each item under the 100 free listings per day.

You should not be charged whether the item sells or not. Are you sure there is not some kind of upgrade that you are being charged for, upgrades are excluded from the free offer? Supersized photos are only free in certain categories. That one sometimes catches me out.

I think you are confused: "only pay when you sell" means "only pay FVF when you sell". You do not pay for listing either sell or not.

You don't pay an insertion fee. So it's free to list. If the item doesn't sell you pay nothing.

If it does sell you still have final fees (and Paypal fees), which as a private seller will be 10% (plus 3.4% + 20p Paypal fees). Extras/upgrades still cost as well, for example if you have a reserve price, add the gallery feature or add a subtitle.
