Second hand white goods are cheap, the £800 difference in the service charge is a lot.0

The white goods shouldnt be an issue and it could be an honest mistake. If i was selling i would leave the cooker, hob, wine cooler and dishwasher as they are built in but would probably take the fridge and washing machine. Either way its a probably not much more than a couple of hundreds worth of second had junk anyway.
What would worry me is finding out that the service charge is 50% more than i was originally told and someone (vendor or EA) has been almost certainly deliberately telling porkies. If there is a service charge i am assuming its a leasehold? What else might be in the lease that you are not being told about? Either way thats 800 a year extra which would be better spent on a holiday or other things.0 -
If I was having to pay an extra £800 a year, I'd want my mortgage interest to be reduced by £800 a year.
So I'd want to reduce my offer by £27k (assuming 3% interest rates).
If I was having to buy second hand white goods when I wasn't expecting to I'd want to reduce my purchase price by the value of those goods. £200, maybe?0 -
I know it's not a very nice situation but now you have all the details only you can decide whether you want to proceed with it.
You have three choices:
- proceed anyway
- don't proceed
- try and negotiate a lower price
That's all you can do.0
