is this a know thing in this part of the forum? after a default dropping of my file this month I have been able to apply for a first direct account switch for the free £100, but now looking on quidco there is so many CC's offering cashback, not huge amounts but if I could open say 2 / 3 at a time with only small balances then close them in 6 months and open 2 / 3 more?

You could. Whether you would get them is another matter and whether it's worth the effort and impact on your credit file is also something I'd consider.0

so if for example you was wanting to get a mortage within 12 - 24 months it wouldn't be a wise move?0

Certainly not within 12 months. You want to show stability, rather than frenetic madness.0
