Travel By Inspire - Your Travel Card vouchers

I have been lucky, or maybe, very unlucky, to have gained a substantial amount of these gift cards. I did ask friends and family to get them for gifts as the cards show the logos of all the major operators, Thompson , 1st Choice, Kuoni, Easyjet, Thomas Cook, etc.thinking I was increasing my options
Try and book holidays or flights and these operators do not feature. Is this misleading?
Another concern is that their prices are very inflated compared to what you can find out there on the interweb
30-50% more  Ive just been quoted nearly £1800 for flights compared to nearly £1300 via Skyscanner for exactly the same flights
Any tips or tricks I can use to get best value out of these voucher/card, seeing that they can only be spent on their website/business.
I do feel a bit of a fool for buying into this seemingly rip-off and I would warn all you MSE'ers to take a wide berth of this company and its "Your Travelcard"":shocked:

I have just one voucher to use with this company and searched here today to see if anyone had any suggestions. It will be out of date soon and I have yet to find anything which I could not have bought cheaper had I not wished to use the voucher.
My search brought up other queries but alas no solutions, so hopefully this bump will encourage anyone who has used this scheme successfully to show us both the way.0 -
They were available as rewards from Shop and Scan until recently, and I accumulated several hundred pounds worth of them. I was particularly interested in using them for Business Class flights from the UK to the Far East and there prices were just over £200 more expensive than booking direct from the airline.
As the vouchers were essentially free I was happy to use them as it still gave me a significant saving overall.
A while later I had accumulated some more and when checking prices for Economy Class tickets I found they were very close in price to what was available elsewhere.
From my limited experience it may just be down to luck as to whether they're any good for you or not.0 -
Oh no - when did Shop and Scan stop them :-( That is what I used it for as well0

I emailed and asked if they'd gone for good and were there any other flight vendors available. They never really replied as to whether they'd gone for good, but confirmed there was no one else selling flights.0 -
You can book Thomas Cook, Thomson etc with them, you just need to call them to book as they don't display on their website. I chose a holiday from Thomas Cook website and called to book it and paid deposit with my vouchers.0

I don't know if you've sorted a holiday yet but you can also book Hoeseasons Europe with travel by inspire..you are right though they are more expensive than other travel companies and the bookings "advisers" are clueless. I was forced to use them as we got a grant for our disabled son and could only go through TBI. In the end we booked a week in Hastings with Haven - the Haven and Siblu (Europe) sites are not inflated the cost is the same if you booked with them direct.I am a Mortgage Adviser
