Hi All,
Yesterday I asked a question regarding loft insulation and cavity walls, and davidmcn made a good point which got me thinking.
Just for an opinion, if you was to buy a property and the only thing that was holding it up was the loft and cavity walls guarantee documents, would you still go ahead and purchase, or would you wait until these are located?
Thanks

I would go ahead
The guarantees might not be transferable (if they are it could be at a cost) and you can bet your life , even if you were the original purchaser of the work the installer would do everything possible to not help anyway , plus are the guarantees insurance backed , if not , they could be next to useless
I would use my surveyors opinion along with my own to make a decisionNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
I wouldn't wait either. They are of dubious value anyway. Provided the surveyor was happy I'd go ahead.0

Thanks everyone, surveyor reported no issues, and we have decided not to allow this to delay us any further.
Just got off the phone to the solicitor and instructed them to do their final report.
Unfortunately we have found out that it is a chain buy as the seller is buying another property so we are waiting for their enquiries, so we can agree a completion date.
Fingers crossed all is well.0
