Boot/tailgate gas struts - DIY or garage?!

I've got a Nissan X-trail and believe the boot gas struts need replacing. I heard gas escaping the other day and now I struggle to get the boot up and it won't stay up.
I'm selling the car in the next week or so and therefore need to get this fixed. Is it an easy DIY job if I get the parts? I'm reluctant to pay for labour if I can do this myself.
TIA

Yes, easy. Hold boot up with a broom pole or another person. Prise off struts with a flat head screw driver, theres a little metal strap, remove and replace with new ones.
You should see change out of £15 for this if you buy second hand ones....new they are around £25.0 -
Was very easy to do on my old FiestaChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

If your's are similar here's a video. It shows the metal retainer that foxy-stoat is no doubt referring to?

Easy job, best with two people as the unsupported boot can be extremely heavy.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

There's a used pair here for £9.89 if the year is right:

Wow thanks for all your replies. We managed to get them off this evening, helped by the video clip posted. Strider, you were right, it was very heavy once we'd taken them off!
Turn to Grey, many thanks for this, they have the ones I need in stock and very well priced.
Edgasket, thank you for that, I need the 07 onwards.
Well, MSE posters have saved me a few quid here, I was ready to book it in at the local garage. Thanks again everyone, much appreciated!!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -
Fit new ones for all you will save not worth buying used.
