Replacing flush siphon in toilet on system without an icolator with a combi boiler.

I need to replace the flush siphon in my toilet but the toilet does not have a icolator so it's fed from the mains cold water supply. I also have a combi boiler on the system.
Question1 is the below the right way to change this on this type of system? Presuming I need to do the below:
1. turn off water at mains
2. Turn off combi boiler on unit and mains
3. Drain system including combi boiler
4. Change flush siphon
5. Turn on mains water
6. Fill up system and boiler
7. Hope fix has worked 😁
8. Turn boiler back on
Question 2:
Is there anything I can do to try and stop air bubbles in system?
Question 3:
Am I better to get isolator fitted at time of system being drained or is this fairly easy and can be done anytime in future?
Thank you!

combi boilers fine , just turn it off, no need to drain the system
I would fit an isolator but buy a more expensive one , the cheap ones fail after time and just leak when you try to isolateEx forum ambassador

You just need to do 1, 4 and 5. Same as if you were changing a tap washer. That's it.
And ideally, like browntoa says, add an isolator if you are able to.0 -
If the toilet tank refil is connected directly to the mains will it not start pumping out water when I disconnect the toilet siphon?0

you've turned off the mains in step 1) ?? so noEx forum ambassador

Is the cistern fill integral with the siphon?
If separate just clamp up the fill float if not turn off the water at the mains
Flush
then only the residual water in the cistern will need capturing0 -
If you get the same syphon you don't even have to take the cistern off if it's a modern toilet & why you think it has anything to do with the boiler is bafflingI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Anyone who does not have all their water appliances individually isolated is just asking for trouble, and is a bit of an idiot in my view.
Fitting isolators is easy DIY work and even if you are unable to do it yourself it would normally be a quick job for any plumber.
The amount of bother that an isolator can help avoid is well worth the cost or bother of fitting.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Hope you don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you are capable of doing this?, given your proposed plan it's clear your plumbing knowledge is "light", and please don't attempt to fit an isolater valve, you could cause yourself a real mess.
Try to find someone to give you a hand.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Cy is right, looking at the way you have asked if that is the correct way to do things I think your plumbing knowledge is very limited, a lot of things can be done with some DIY knowledge & sometimes you have to say I'm really not experienced enough to do this & I either need to get someone in or a more knowledgeable friendI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

The new syphon will have a plastic thread, a clean cut on the copper and flexi pipe with built in isolator.
Wet the plastic thread with soap before trying to fit the flexi pipe to avoid cross threading.I do Contracts, all day every day.0
