Wok Pan stand not level on new hob

I have just had a whirlpool 5 burner hob installed in my kitchen. Today I was trying out the various rings and when I put the wok on the grid/ panstand over the "power" burner, it wobbled. I tried several other large flat saucepans on it and they wobbled too.
The grid/panstand over the power burner, has 4 supporting bars which run front and back (north and south) and left and right (west and east) and leave a gap in the centre over the burner itself where you stand the pan.
Checking out the problem carefully (removing the grid and turning it upside down and laying it on a flat surface), I found that the right hand bar (east) is not quite level with the left hand bar (west) - it is a fraction lower, making the pan rock slightly and making it unstable. I often have hot fat in my wok and the last thing I want is it tipping over. Or any other pan for that matter.
The hob does not come with a separate wok stand. Before I bought it I asked other buyers (in questions on line) if this was necessary and two people replied to say they had not found they needed a separate wok stand as it was fine without it. There does not seem to be a wok stand available for it.
It only came with a very basic booklet on installation and there is nothing in there about spares or replacement of the grid panstands.
Panstands seem to be a "grey" area as manufacturing defects but I assume I can request a replacement part under warranty. I am a bit concerned because I have been looking on line to see what part number I should request for a replacement and no one seems to stock the stands for the power burner on a 5 ring hob only the 4 ring models (it is hob AKR 317ix).
Any suggestions?

(model No. often handy)
have you phoned the supplier or whirlpool?
take the faulty part to the showroom and test on the show room model, might be able to do a swap.
proper round bottom woks need a full stand0 -
Model is AKR317xi. Bought from co-op on line. Have looked up replacement part number and there does not seem to be one for the powerburner on a 5 burner hob. My wok does have a flat bottom.0

I will do but it does say on the Co-Op Ts and Cs that in first year warranty is provided by the manufacturer which would be Whirlpool who outsource to Domestic and General.
Just a bit concerned that no-one seems to supply this particular panstand as a spare. There are no spares for it on the Whirlpool site which is useless anyway but no one else, like e spares and a site specialising in Whirlpool spares, seems to stock a replacement stand either. Plenty for 4 burner hobs but not for the large burner on a 5 burner hob.0 -
Is it possible to bash the current stand into place with a hammer? Outside on the concrete preferably rather than on your hob. Or turn it upside down on the floor and stand on it? I may be oversimplifying the issue but just wonderedSchool is important, but Rugby is importanter.0

No it is rigid and welded on......and do not want to risk making problem worse/ having to return existing potstand as evidence of faulty manufacture.0

It is not a warranty claim
They delivered a broken hob they should replace it or the broken part.
do not even try to fix the problem if, cast it will break not bend.0 -
actually it is a defective part and not at all apparent until you start to use it. I should be very happy if they just sent me a replacement panstand but I fear, due to apparent unavailability of such parts, and chain of responsibility: from me to Co-op to whirlpool to D & G, that it may all take some time. And I just wanting to get on using the hob.
Will phone co-op later this morning. Will keep you updated .0 -
OK phoned the co-op who put me through to D & G who said the panstands are classed as cosmetic and not covered by warranty (also the knobs). I pointed out I had only bought it last month and it was unused and she said she could not help and I would need to write to customer services.
She said "Damaged parts" have to be reported within 48 hours of delivery. I pointed out it was not broken only misaligned which did not become apparent until it was used. I then asked for their address so I could write to them and she said she was not able to give me an address.

Get back to the coop they are responsible.
48hrs to notify of manufacturing faults let them try that in court.0
