Since I had my assessment in January my condition has progressed/worsened. When I report this change will my payments stop or will it be an ongoing thing until they have reassessed me?

If you don't like the original decision for your PIP, You are free to close the entire claim and make a new PIP claim and be reassessed, Unless your doctor or specialists agree to write a letter saying your condition has worsened there is no more further appeals process... It would appear that you are determined to get enhanced PIP rates.0 -
Your current payments will continue at the same rate, when you are re-assessed then your current award will be replaced with the decision from that assessment.
Your award could go up, stay the same, or be reduced.
Before asking for a re-assessment (because your condition has worsened) it is sensible to check that you are sure that a reassessment will result in an increased award.
Otherwise, you may find yourself going through the appeal process again!Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -

Yeah thanks for that. What a friendly forum.
No I'm not trying to get enhanced rate for both but I do think I qualify for standard on both daily living and mobility.
The letter I took with me was detailing that I now have only 50% lung function as well as other conditions. This was not apparent in January because the second round of CT and Pulmonary tests were not done until late January after my assessment.0 -

Have your care needs increased since the diagnosis? Presumably you already knew that something wasn't right, otherwise you wouldn't have been referred for tests. Even if a condition progresses or worsens, you might not have sufficiently higher care needs to warrant a higher award.0 -
Yes they have increased.0

The letter off my consultant supports that my care needs have changed which is why I took it to the tribunal but I understand that they only look at how my condition was affecting me at the time of the assessment in January.0 -

Bit harsh. They might be rightfully entitled to enhanced rates.
OP - I agree with the advice that suggests you check descriptors and see if your needs have increased to match, not just a general progression of your condition because, as you know, it's not about how bad your condition is but how much it affects you day to day. If you believe you warrant a higher award and have letters etc to back this up, you can inform DWP of a change to your condition and request a reassessment. If you struggled the first time around though, be aware that they could strip you of your original award entirely causing you further stress. It's a tough call - I wish you all the best with it x0 -

Thanks Stripeybat. I really don't think I qualify for enhanced rate. A lot of things have changed since January making my day to day life a lot more difficult.0 -

I get it. Things can change, and sometimes extra support can make the world of difference. I don't know if this self test helps at all, but sharing just in case https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-self-test (obviously DWP will rarely award points as generously as you might feel you deserve...!
but it's a good way to roughly gauge where you might fall pointswise) 0
