Just got back from Asda, bought two scrummy looking finest desserts for £2 but when I opened them they were covered in fur
Wondering whether its worth storming back to shop or will they just fob me off with a refund. Is it worth emailing the head office and having a moan? Has spoilt a really nice dinner I was planning for tonight

I've not found ASDA customer service via their website to be much good. Could be an isolated case tho'0

email them with a photo, my local asda has a queue out the door for customer services so i'd always avoid trying to deal with that.0

never thought of emailing a photo will do that tonight, thanks0

Emailing or letter is better I think, you get more money back, if you took it in store they only give you what you paid for it orginally.0

I bought a pack of sausage rolls from the co-op once, then noticed (after eating half the pack) they were mouldy (dont think we ate mouldy ones, they would have tasted bad) I wrote to address on the packet and they sent me a £5 voucher as an apology.Good enough club member number 140

I brought a finest fresh duck from Asda a couple of weeks ago, when I got home and opened the packaging it was off (smelt really bad), even though the sale by/use by dates were about 3-4 days away. I took it straight back and Customer Services gave me back twice the amount that I had paid for it, no questions asked :T . I was more than happy with the amount I was given, it's put me off buying duck for a while though.
Rose:beer:Thank you to all posters:beer:

Pedants Corner: Finest is a Tesco range, I think the Asda version is Extra special.
You can have Duck with Orange, Duck with Cherries or Duck Surprise.
Whats Duck surprise?
Thats duck without Orange or Cherries.
What if you don't like duck?
Well thats tough luck! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Personally I'd go straight to environmental health! I got some flavoured water from Morrisons a while ago, it had mould on the bottom of the bottle - I'd drunk half of it before I realised!!!! Anyway, I rang the store and they offered a refund. I rang Environmental Health and they collected the bottle from me, and investigated the problem. As a result, they found there was a contamination problem on the production line. The product was withdrawn and recalled. I also got vouchers and an apology from Morrisons.
Asda often repackage and redate their food (although they would deny it of course!), and I have had meat go off before the sellby date on several occassions - there's no way I'd buy meat from Asda now. Maybe a look into your probelm by Environmental Health wouldn't be a bad idea....0
