Self employed tutor...is this covered by the term time rules?

I do 16 hours per week as a self employed tutor. However once the students finish their exams at the end of June, I will have no customers until the start of September.
How does this work? Can I go on claiming WTC over the summer break using the term time rules, or is that just for employees?

No it's not just for employees, it's for anyone with a recognised cycle of work.

Brilliant! Looking forward to the summer break and then hopefully teacher training in September!

Darksparkle is correct, but be prepared for HMRC to question it.

Why can't you look for customers in the summer? Many use tutors during that time to catch up before the following year. I can't see how you are prevented from working all together.

I am currently advertising and would be happy to accept work, however in previous years I have got nothing over the summer holidays. So far had no responses to ads
