Equifax slow to remove 6yr defaults

Does anyone know why Equifax are slow to remove 6yr defaulted accounts from credit file.
Had two defaults which should have come off this week 31/05/2010 and 3/6/2010 they are both off experian and noddle/call credit. Experian are still reporting them and a quick search suggests Equifax are slower to stop reporting them by 2-3 weeks whats they reason for this can anyone shed light
