EU Company - Do they have to honor price given in Email?

Hi Guys

Ive been in contact with a hotel in the carribean for the past few weeks regarding planning my wedding. Have been dealing with a lady at the office in mallorca (Spanish hotel company).

We have been negotiating a better deal for our guests as we are a large group.

Now the lady we have been dealing with has given us prices (hotel only) which we were happy with, gave us some discount and had no reason to question. We put this to our potential guests and gave them a price. Upon this they confirmed whether they would like to attend or not.

We got the total figures and booked the flights no problem. We then contacted the hotel again to book the rooms and pay deposit at the price they had originally given me.

Upon doing so we were told different prices and the original price quoted was given to us in error (blamed an error on the system) although we re-forwarded and screenshotted the original prices given to us.

They will still not agree to the original prices and say they can only do these new prices.

Is there any EU law where they need to honor the prices they originally gave us?

Thanks in advance

Nope, no EU Law and they don't have to honour it under UK Law either.

    Thanks for the reply.

Not what you wanted to hear, I know. Could always try asking for a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience, either monetary or upgrades etc

What does the lady in the Mallorca office say? After all, the discount came from her, not from the hotel itself, so perhaps you need to make the booking through her.
