    Must say that I'm surprised your dealings in India have been so straight forward. My own experience is quite different - corruption abounds.

    That level of tax and NI implies an income level of £35-40k, so not a million miles away from needing to pay higher rate tax on your investments that aren't held in tax wrappers like ISAs or pensions.

    I'd be quite happy to pay only £700 tax and NI every month, but unfortunately with my current income and outgoings it would be illegal for me to only pay that amount. If you aren't paying UK tax on all your income because you haven't bothered to find out the rules, it sounds like it might be illegal for you to pay only that amount too.

    As I'm paying more than 700 a week in tax I won't feel quite so grateful for your partial contribution.
