It matters to her to promote her campaign for inequality.

And thanks to so many of the older members of the population voting for brexit, the aims of WASPI are even less likely to occur now.

Why cant you let the thread die?

I notice their members are complaining there was no press coverage. Are other things happening in Westminster, or have I missed something?

    :rotfl:

Just shows how blinkered to their own 'cause' and out-of-touch with the rest of the world they are!

This event was planned months ago, long before all the current political crisis.

    Oh dear!
Seems like more recent political events conspired against them.
One wonders about the sense in choosing a date so close after the EU referendum (which was announced on 20th Feb 2016)......
When did WASPI plan this demonstration?
Was it even covered by the BBC?

    Quote from FB:
    D(emo) DAY IS HERE!
A momentous occasion in the WASPI campaign. Our chance to be heard loud and clear!
29th June 2016 will go down in history just as the 29th June 1909 did when Emmeline Pankhurst marched to Parliament with hundreds of Suffragettes, to present a petition to Prime Minister Asquith.
    Nobody was listening, love.
And 29th June 2016 may well go down in history but not for the reason you think.
They include 62 year old Rosemary Stewart from Basingstoke who says she's having to sell her house because of "unfair" rules.
Well, in the link provided by pennylane, this lady said 'I'm going to be selling my house'.
'going to be selling' is not the same as 'having to sell'.
Having listened to various MPs relate various constituents 'stories' in debates and know (based on my own circumstances - I'm a late 1953 woman) that some are outright lies, I take these statements with such a large pinch of salt that it may be damaging to my health.

Yes. But you are not saying anything of any particular value. All that is happening is you and a couple of other people are trading kudos for making the same hackneyed baseless arguments over and over again. Occasionally you invoke the dead to make a cheap political point. It is thoroughly tiresome. This board is for people who have questions about their pensions. It is not for tedious grandstanding. It is indeed a free country and you may spend as much time tediously grandstanding as you want, but I wonder why you waste your time on it. Perhaps you are someone who just likes to have pointless childish uninformed arguments on the internet, in which case I refer you to any Youtube comments section as a more suitable forum for your posts.

Continue if you like, but when others express exasperation or boredom at your flogging of this particular dead horse, it has nothing to do with trying to curtail your freedom of speech. It is someone using their freedom of speech to point out that you aren't getting anywhere.
I am a Technical Analyst at a third-party pension administration company. My job is to interpret rules and legislation and provide technical guidance, but I am not a lawyer or a qualified advisor of any kind and anything I say on these boards is my opinion only.
  • It's all a bit tedious - and having caught part of yesterday's televised interview with someone from WASPY, WASPISH, WARPED or whatever they call themselves, I'd be surprised if anyone backs their cause.

If no-one responds or reacts to Pennylane's posts the thread will die a natural death, although it will probably appear on a regular basis for a while due to 'bumping' by followers of the cause.
