I have had my basic Barclays account for nearly 11 years now. Quite happy with it, as I do not want to go overdrawn.

I received my new visa card today and was surprised to find it had the contactless feature activated.

Now I thought that these transactions were allowed, without checking your account balance? If so, how can Barclays allow these with their basic accounts.

Thanks
