EON fiasco

When I offered the £3k, they declined it because they put the bill inti dispute because of their error. Knowing what I know now, I should have disputed that original bill then, because it was for 16 months energy and they can't bill you for more than 12 months.
Well you seem to (think you) know more than I do about these things, so I'll leave it with you
Good luck!
I'll leave the link here to those who wonder what you are on about and then they can make their own mind up

I only know what Helena has told me, which is probably more than you think you know.0

P.S. anything over the last 12 months is in dispute.0

Was the intent of your £3,000 offer to be 'in full and final settlement'
or just as an interim payment?0 -
The £3k was an offer based on about what I thought the bill should be after 16 months, with a view for eon to give me an accurate bill later on. Now I know I'm not going to get an accurate bill, meters to be fitted on Tuesday will be the 3rd replacement since I last paid.0

Morning zla,
I'm sorry that this is dragging on like this.
I really think the best advice I can give you now, is to be in contact with your complaints manager, this is one person looking after the complaint and will have the full details of everything that's going on.
If you speak to us, we can let you know who that person is (if you don't know) and get you in contact with them.
Something is happening as you're having some more meters, if you can do the things they mentioned on the phone before the meter change, ie; take photos, get the reads, serial numbers etc then I'm sure that would be really helpful.
I really hope this is resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you also to the other posters on the thread for your help.

Thanks again Helena, I am in contact with a "Claire" from Eon.
Just what changing the meters again is going to achieve I don't know, just going along with it for the time being.
Do you have any idea why somebody would ring me saying I owe over £5.1k, then I later get a bill for £1k less?
Regards, z1a.0 -

Morning,
In all honesty, I just can't really sayas I don't have any of the account details and I don't want to start guessing.
You're on the right track now, with a complaint manager so I'm really pleased about that.
It'll be resolved, I'm just sorry it's taking so long.
Thank you for the update.

Finally, a result, quite a good one for me!
Got a bill emailed to me about a month ago for £5168, but it was still a bill from the last payment in 2014 - would be about right given that I used to pay about £200 month. I ignored it knowing they can't bill me for so long when it's their fault.
Got a bill yesterday for the £5k, but credited with £2700 odd, thus a bill of £2400 to bring me up to date. Paid that today quite happily knowing that Eons ineptitude has given me about 15 months worth of free energy.
Time to change suppliers now.0
