Dual citizenship and electoral list

Hi all,

I recently got British citizenship and have two questions.

Tried to apply for credit card over the weekend and put nationality as British and was refused( halifax, have current account with them already).
Is it possible that nationality change on application triggered refusal and should I stick with original nationality?

Electoral roll

Got letter from council that I`m registered since 01/04/2016.
As I already used experian/equifax and not willing to pay for a month, can I just emailed them with copy of the letter and ask to amend their records(unless this is being done automatically)?

Thanks

What do you mean apply for credit score, did you want to write in credit card by any chance?

I don't think that CRAs hold data like nationality, for sure experian doesn't:
Your Experian credit report does not contain — and Experian does not collect — data about race, religious preference, medical history, personal lifestyle, political preference, friends, criminal record or any other information unrelated to credit.

and it would make little sense for them to do so. But a sudden change of nationality on an application is sure suspicious. Did you update your personal details on existing account with them before making the application? Because that could be the red flag, assuming that otherwise your credit file is stellar.

I guess your electoral roll not showing at the CRA yet. thats why you are refused by halifax. it took experian and equifax 4months to show that am on electoral roll despite sending them the letter from council which states the date am on electoral. till now noddle still dont show am on the roll despite sending them the letter 6months ago and numerous emails. I voted during may elections and noddle still says am not register to vote what a service.

yo can try you luck anyways

Noddle is useless, but good for basic check.

    Will wait and see then.
