Unused Bank Account.

All the cra's Ive used advise close down unused back accounts.

I appreciate this maybe for potential fraud purposes.

I have one such Halifax account, not used since 2012.

For entertainment purposes,what if any affect does this have for credit report/score.:D

For your credit report, minimal. Any overdraft attached is likely to be small and relatively insignificant in most cases.

For your credit score, it's worth 73 points, Mon-Fri, and 115 points at weekends.

I'll call hbos tomorrow and close the account anyway,only cause I've been reading such advice online as long as I can remember.;)

Don't close the account!. Switch it to another bank to get a nice switching bonus!

Or... if you haven't already had the £100/£125 switching bonus from Halifax then switch an account into that one and claim some free money.

Today I will predict that the impact on your fictitious credit score will be a blue chicken will fly past your house carrying a pumpkin that they are about to deliver to Kate Moss. The number this will score is 42. Which I believe is seen my many as the meaning of life.

Remember the CRA's don't lend you money, just make sure that all your accounts are up to date and that you pay all your bills on time. That's far more important.
