    Morning everyone,

Dry and sunny here, set for a warm one.

Well, Bruce was absolutely fantastic, he came on stage at 6.20 and literally did not stop singing & playing until 9.50, that's 3.5 hours of fantastic entertainment. Brilliant value for money, how very OS of the boss :j
Your DD is right JACKIE he held us in the palm of his hand and the whole stadium was rocking, with the exception of the miserable couple who sat behind us. They didn't clap, sing or move from their seats all night and left before the end, some folks just don't know how to enjoy themselves do they!
He is well known for his audience participation, pulling people up on the stage with him to dance etc. He made one little girls night complete, she was holding up a banner that said " I have school in the morning but am "waiting on a sunny day"" so Bruce got her up on front of stage to sing it with him. That's something that little one will never forget :T
Anyways, needless to say we have a fab time, bit tired today but nothing much else to do but potter round the house and enjoy the sunshine.

Have a good day everyone, take care folks x

    Hi everyone,

We gt back from Yorkshire late on Friday night and luckily brought the good weather back with us.

JO well done I never see bargains like that, round here we're lucky to have 35p taken off the full price of things. In fact very often it's chickens that are 3 for £10 originally and then marked at £3.25 each on the last day - a grand saving of 8p each.

I'm taking DS' fiancee to Cambridge at lunch time for a dress fitting (although I don't want to see the dress). We'll meet her mother there and have lunch. It's only a 35 minute journey by car otherwise she would have to take the train and it's not a straightforward journey. I shall do a little window shopping I think, maybe look at possible outfits for the wedding myself although I want to wait for the sales to buy.

DD had a marathon accupuncture session (3.5 hours) on Saturday but it seems to have really helped her neck and shoulders. She bought herself a food processor with some of her wedding present vouchers, I feel quite envious - my food processor is about 30 years old, DH won it in a raffle a work, but it's still going so it won't be replaced until it gives up the ghost completely.

    Morning all,

Did not get up till 10 :o but must have needed it and I feel refreshed now, I've just done 7 days at work where I am on my feet all day and walk at least 12k steps a day every day !, its no wonder I am tired.

OH has bought himself a new car so we might be going to get that later today, he is just waiting for the money to be transferred, dd has a driving lesson later, and I have a few phone calls to make.

We need to have a good clean round which wont take long with the three of us, I have a urge for cold meat chips and pickle now :D so think we will have that for dinner.

Hilstep you are doing so well, big hugs to you xx

    Have good days all xx
  • Good Morning everyone, another wonderful warm and sunny day here today, I've just picked the plots and we have 1lb 3oz of strawberries, asparagus, peas, sugar snaps and broad beans to eat with some grilled salmon for lunch, yummy! House is clean and tidy, bedding is on the line and blowing in the breeze and not much more to do so it's going to be an easy day for both of us, lovely!

I think I'll pootle up to the library and change my books so I have something new to read and buy us a nice wheatmeal loaf from the bakery there, they make very nice bread and it keeps even in this warmer weather so it's not so likely to be thrown away as ready sliced would. Noisy this morning so I looked out of the window and our resident magpies have two sturdy looking hatchlings who were sitting in my neighbours birch trees level with the bedroom window, I'll enjoy watching them grow. I know magpies aren't very popular but I adore them, they remind me of gentlemen in tail coats strutting round the garden, we've had this pair (or thier ancestors) regularly nesting nearby for all of the 20 odd years we've been here and they're fun to watch.

Hope you all have a lovely day, Lyn xxx.

Hello everyone and thanks to NMLC . I hope your day goes well .
Wishing Hilstep a better day today and hoping Judi is getting a restful break .
Escape to the Chateau will be repeated on Tuesday at 8pm on 47 for those interested . I used to watch the various series and own the books but I do miss Brigit . The talk on here has reminded me to start watching her blog again , last time I read she had downsized massively to a tiny home with very little growing space so I must catch up on her adventures .
Tru - I have had a touch of the sick and dizzy over the last few days .
Day 12 I think of hot , sunny and humid . I know the forecasts aren't reliable but next Sunday is the first rain shown for here . I will be a summer version of Raymond Briggs snowman by then although the puddle which was me will probably dry instantly and it will be a mystery where I went .

I too am moving large , heavy pots around . I have far too many so am grouping them together to ease the watering . I can only manage a few at a time so it's a work in progress .

Jackie - I think that curry deserves a special OS award . I know you keep saying no but you really should write the book .

Glad you had a great time Lainey . I can't believe anyone can sit impassively while the Boss is doing his thing , maybe they had come to the wrong event :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Snoozer -My beloved Kenwood Chef and all the accessories are now into their 30s and I wouldn't trade them for the world - you can't buy stuff like that anymore

Lyn We have a pair of magpies that go back through a lengthy dynasty of many years . Very noisy but I would miss them if they left .

Today I have done the to do list for the coming week , made the phone calls and will move a few more pots together and spend some time checking the big chest freezer as it is cool in the garage .
Food is yet again cold meals . I take my hat off to any who can tackle cooking and eating roasts in the heat .
Have a good day all and hugs where needed .
    polly

    Afternoon all
Best laid plans and all that, I was just getting ready to have a shower and a final tidy round yesterday at 7pm when DD phoned, SIL had been playing football and tripped, she needed to take him to A&E.
I went round to watch the DGC, they finally got home at 11:30.

I was up and in the shower at 5 as hubby is on the early shift today and lates for the rest of the week.

So now I'm rushing to catchup with what didn't get done yesterday, WM is on and it's time to get the vacuum out.

    Have a good afternoon all
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Hi Chums I must admit it was pure luck that I snaffled the Morrieson's clucker on Saturday night as I am never normally out at 8.00p.m. in there .The young lass on the tills said 'Well done on spotting it :) I was so chuffed that's why I zipped off home and chucked it in the SC. Never ever had a bargain like that though :):)

Today I had to do a 'biggish' shop as I had run out of so many bits and pieces and needed fresh fruit and veg .Spent around £27 odd which is a 'big' shop for me and have enough fresh stuff for at least 10 days, plus all the cleaning and bathroom stuff is stocked up. Did my 'Healthy Living walk' first though then walked around to DD's and let the mutts out and hung her washing out and stacked the dishwasher before going shopping I have worked it out that I have done just under 3 miles today ,but its necessary as it only five weeks until my Race for Life so need to put the miles in:) In my case its more like a stately walk than a race but the boys will come along with myself and my DD and we hope to raise some cash for the cause.
Glad you had a good time Lainey I know DD would wonder why folk like that even bothered going to see him,a true showman who apreciates his audience, they are few and far between these days
Hope Hilstep has a good day, and Judi can sort things out OK

    Have a good evening chums

Just a quick Hello as I have introduced my laptop to a large glass of soft drink last week and they did not get on!

I am having to use a library computer to type this and also change my password.

The kitchen now considts of a tap. two sockets. a small fridge and a microwave! Painting does not start till Wednesday and the the wood floor being laid before units and tiles etc need done. The electrics in the house were dangerous so it will cost an extra £1500 to make everything safe.

I keep looking wistfully at the house shows on tv that redo half a house in a couple of days!!! It looks as if it will be next week now.

    Hugs to all

Oh Elona - what a disaster! Sorry to hear about your laptop and hope you're sorted soon.

It's been a lovely day here again though torrential rain is forecast as possible tomorrow. I've been into town to do some printing for my batch of students in Sept this year. Perfect planning and all that. Then I've been emailing and reading. Tomorrow I'm off to Oban taking a local woman up to the hospital as the booked patient transport has been withdrawn for some reason.

Took my car up to a body shop bloke who will polish out the scratches from Thursday, I hope. He'll have a go on Saturday.

I've just caught up with Top Gear and had the beef strips.

I hope everyone has had a good day.
