Help - Peugeot 208 touch screen problem

Hello sorry for the long question but I'm not used to this stuff and need some advice!! So I bought a Peugeot 208 in September 2015, just yesterday the touchscreen did not come in when I switched the engine on so won't work at all. I went to the dealer today who told me to go to Peugeot because it is under warranty. Peugeot is not open until tomorrow but i checked the handbook and my car has not had all its services so the warranty would be nullified. I fear Peugeot will say this to me tomorrow so what should I do if this is the case? Iv seen it can cost 600+ for a new screen etc. I was actually going to get the car serviced and mot this month but the problem is shouldnt the dealer have told me about this beforehand as I thought the warranty would be valid. Just not sure what to do really. Thanks in advance

Unless you asked, or it was advertised with / they told you it had full service history, you might be stuffed. Too late now, but as a buyer, you should have asked this at the time.

Don't tell the Peugeot dealer this though yet. Although strictly speaking, the warranty may be invalid, the touch screen isn't a serviceable item so not having it serviced hasn't made it fail, unlike changing the oil etc, so you may be ok. If you have a service now, will it bring it back in line, or is it too late for that?
  • Yeah I know so fingers crossed. Nope it looks as if it was last years that was missed, so I doubt it would help. All I can do is hope they don't notice or it doesn't invalidate it. I can only try and find out tomorrow when they are open. I will update this when I know! Wish I knew more about cars before I bought it!!!!

    I'm confused.

The car is due MOT (at four years old) but you've been told its still under manufacturers warranty? Is manufacturers warranty not 3 years?
  • It's due it's MOT after 3 years? Registered June 2013 so MOT is due June 2016? That's what I was told anyway when checked online

They really shouldnt object to repairing the touch screen even if its not serviced exactly in line with recommendations.

Theres no reason why changing the oil or not at a given time frame would impact the longevity of the touch screen.

    Insist they sort it.
