Hello sorry for the long question but I'm not used to this stuff and need some advice!! So I bought a Peugeot 208 in September 2015, just yesterday the touchscreen did not come in when I switched the engine on so won't work at all. I went to the dealer today who told me to go to Peugeot because it is under warranty. Peugeot is not open until tomorrow but i checked the handbook and my car has not had all its services so the warranty would be nullified. I fear Peugeot will say this to me tomorrow so what should I do if this is the case? Iv seen it can cost 600+ for a new screen etc. I was actually going to get the car serviced and mot this month but the problem is shouldnt the dealer have told me about this beforehand as I thought the warranty would be valid. Just not sure what to do really. Thanks in advance

Unless you asked, or it was advertised with / they told you it had full service history, you might be stuffed. Too late now, but as a buyer, you should have asked this at the time.
Don't tell the Peugeot dealer this though yet. Although strictly speaking, the warranty may be invalid, the touch screen isn't a serviceable item so not having it serviced hasn't made it fail, unlike changing the oil etc, so you may be ok. If you have a service now, will it bring it back in line, or is it too late for that?0 -
Yeah I know so fingers crossed. Nope it looks as if it was last years that was missed, so I doubt it would help. All I can do is hope they don't notice or it doesn't invalidate it. I can only try and find out tomorrow when they are open. I will update this when I know! Wish I knew more about cars before I bought it!!!!0

I'm confused.
The car is due MOT (at four years old) but you've been told its still under manufacturers warranty? Is manufacturers warranty not 3 years?0 -
It's due it's MOT after 3 years? Registered June 2013 so MOT is due June 2016? That's what I was told anyway when checked online0

Ooops. My bad.
4 years here in NI - thought it was the same as the mainland.0 -
They really shouldnt object to repairing the touch screen even if its not serviced exactly in line with recommendations.
Theres no reason why changing the oil or not at a given time frame would impact the longevity of the touch screen.
Insist they sort it.0
