I've just discovered your diary and you're inspiring me to go and do things (I'm having an attack of procrastination).

I'm sorry to hear you and DS had a tough morning yesterday. I hope today is better.

Hows the procrastination going cherryfudge? I'm terrible for putting off things I don't want to do but what parsniphead is doing is really quite inspiring.

parsniphead I'm finding that the smell of the bleach in the back half of the house is really making me notice the damp upstairs, etc but I have to focus on the exposed by the Tuesday appointment area first. I have dried and re-hung the (now slightly mis-shaped) curtains rather than my usual trick of half a job, let it fester for weeks if not months, Household waste bin collection tomorrow, half full bin so I've had a dash round collecting rubbish, changing all of the litter trays, etc.
I've also dealt with the long term washing pile - you know, the handwash only or puts fluff on everything stuff that you hide for months, maybe even years. That one might just be me.

I pushed myself to make a start on the ironing, get the shopping and do some cooking thanks hex. :) The place is still messy but people are fed and we had a cosy evening watching Rich House, Poor House. I've been trying to ebay some stuff and got the photos and a price list done but the phone camera and the computer are refusing to talk to each other. I've ordered a new SD card for the phone so I'm hoping it will give me enough memory to download the 3bay app and not have to sell via computer. All these good intentions thwarted by silly stuff!

Well done on attacking the long term washing pile, I'm always amazed at how determined some items are to take up squatters' rights.

Off to read a bit more of parsniphead's diary! :)

Hex, I've been a real slob with washing this week. I have been putting lights in with darks and towels in with everything. I've always been good about sorting things but can't be bothered.

My house has been smelling love!y and of lemon/lime. Well the kitchen does anyway.

I don't mind ironing cheeryfudge,as long as the pile isn't too big. I just struggle to put things away.

I've not done much today, you have all put me to shame. I have kept the kitchen and bedroom tidy and its been a few days now. I'm trying to keep these rooms done so that they become habits before starting on the next area. The stairs are getting better and hopefully will be cleared tomorrow. The bathroom just needs decorating really.

I have been in the garden tonight and continued clearing the new spot for the greenhouse. I do love it when parts of the garden are reclaimed.

Tomorrow I'm going to get up early and complete painting the hall. It needs to be finished soon. Pooh, stinky carpet.

Time to bed now. Goodnight all. X

    Back again. Good morning.

I was up at 6.30 and have managed to get a few jobs done. I have pegged out washing, put another load in, vacuumed the sitting room and painted the bottom half of the hall. Oh and put some stuff out for the rubbish and recycling collection this morning.

I'm taking the small person to get some trainers this morning. I had to take his other ones back yesterday as they had started to split after three days wear. I'm going to get him there for 9am and miss the crowds.

Later today I'm going to either finish the painting or continue in the garden if the weather is ok. I would like to take some stuff to the local charity shop but it's DS's toys and I still get emotional. We'll see.

Also DS needs to get his hair cut.:eek::eek: He looks like Wurzel Gummage (for those old enough).

Payday seems a long way off. I'm feeling a bit frustrated and just want to get on paying debt and saving for the emergency fund.

Clutter area target today: the stairs.

    Have a good day all. P x

'Why do we have to go for a haircut?' 'because you look like something out of the Munsters' Silence. 'Just google it'

Back to school for my pair on Monday so it was essential.

OH was off today so little done on the cleaning front, other than the essential dishwasher, washing machine runs. We fitted the shingles on the new shed instead and now I am shattered.

I've not bought the book yet but I have been reading her older blog posts.

Have to confess I only separate whites and hand wash things. Everything else just gets bunged in to take its chances,

Luckily Bob I don't look like Aunt Sally. More like Worzel myself. ;)

I did Google it Hex but keep getting stuff about rugby!!!!

I have a couple of sheds to do up too Hex. One I would like to turn into a chicken coop.

A very bitty day today with little done. DS did get his hair cut and was very good, but has been a minx for the rest of the day. I'm not sure what's got into him for the past few weeks. He is usually such a sweet thing.

I have done bits and bobs of cleaning but nothing to make a big difference. I think I will get up early and do some more painting tomorrow if I can get this finished and get the carpet up I will feel better.

Bit tired now so off to bed I think.

    Have a nice sleep all. P x

    Morning diary.

I finally managed to drag myself out of bed at 6am this morning. I just couldn't do 5.30. Anyway the hall is painted apart from one area for DS to do later. After that's done I'm going to have to rip up the carpet. :j I will be glad to see the back of the stinking stuff. The floorboards may need some work before staining though but that will be done one evening before bed.

I'm still fighting and keeping the two rooms clean and tidy. I'm not saying it's easy but it's easier than living in clutter. Also it doesn't take too long to do now.

One thing I did yesterday was start cleaning things which I never thought of before really unless I was about to paint. So some of the doors and frames got a good clean. It made things look much better. I'm going to try to steam the kitchen walls later but they are half plaster and half spikes artex . Plus some of the artex is peeling off and looks a real mess. I would love my kitchen done but that is going to be some time off at the moment.

Right, must get on. It's a nice day here so hopefully I can get some work done in the garden later.

    Have a good day all. P x

Oh the Munsters was like the Addams Family, think shambling big gormless men with pudding bowl thick haircuts. They just needed bolts through their necks to complete the look.

I need to wash their school coats today, and make sure I washed the PE kit. Also need to have a clear out of outgrown clothes next week - DS2 gets very attached to things. OH is the same, which is partly why we are in this mess.

We used to have chickens parsniphead, and while I was handing up shingles I was looking at the old play house and thinking it wouldn't take much effort to add a run at the back and have hens again. Then OH reminded me of how much I hated cleaning them out, and that it was the first job every weekend. They kill a lot of slugs, but also a lot of plants if you let them go free range. Eggs were great though, and the manure was useful for the garden.
