Happened to me several years ago, not a bank but the Xxxxx Assurance. I received a pack regarding my private pension, the contents were clearly marked for someone with the same family name, totally different forenames and different address. The address was fortunate, I was able to find a telephone number and inform the other party, who had received my pack and was about to write to the Xxxxx Assurance. Between us, we came up with a plan: we would send the packs to each other, then report to Xxxxx Assurance that we each had received nothing.
It only took them 5 weeks to send out a new pack to me, and 4 weeks to the other party, who incidentally lived some 200+ miles from me.
It's all very well to say that "we all make mistakes" - quite often those mistakes result in financial worries for those on the receiving end. Favourite response is 'Computer Error' - nonsense, as it is human programmers and operators inputting errors. GIGO, as they say in America.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Make a video .... explaining the problem, showing what you got, obscuring the personal information, but "leaking" the personal data. e.g. "This is the account of a Mr B and he has £500k in his account that he wants to write into his will, I presume"..... and end the video with you shredding the lot and then do a birdie for the camera and say "Have a nice day Lloyds". Then upload it to youtube.0
