  • Good Morning everyone, well finally we have a beautiful sunny day and the washing is out on the line, the house is clean and tidy and I'm going to enjoy this day to the full just in case we don't get another one like it for a few days! I don't have to cook today as the chilli is already made and in the fridge but what I will be doing is preparing mega amounts of rhubarb and dehydrating them for the winter. We had the first real meal from the plots yesterday, a risotto with home grown peas, sugar snaps, courgettes, broad beans and little gem lettuce and today the polytunnel will provide us with a really nice fresh green salad and strawberries from the garden and I have the first of the new potatoes to use too wonderful stuff!

Enjoy Sunday folks, I hope we all get this sunshine and warmth, goodness knows we all need it don't we? Lyn xxx.

    Morning all

We have sun, the washing is on the line and we will take the DGC gongoozling in a while.

They were up at 6, had their first breakfast of cereal and toast at 6:30 and are now having cooked breakfast with hubby.

Hubby has to work for a couple of hours this afternoon, and we need to drop the kids home at some point.

I need to swish and swipe through once they have gone and sort packups out for tomorrow. Hubby is on early shift tomorrow and late shift the rest of the week.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

JackieO - that's great about the TV and what a bargain with the chicken!

DH is off to the butchers in a while to get the BBQ meat. I made a pavlova last night plus some 'bug' fairy cakes for the children (experimenting for messy church on Friday). The theme is 'air' so we will make whirly windmills for the garden plus a kazoo (the parents will LOVE us I'm sure lol).

It's our wedding anniversary on Tuesday but DH will be at AmDram as he has been cast as Higgins in Pygmalion. May go for dinner tomorrow night after SW as Weds I'm running youth club and Thursday DH runs scouts, Friday is messy church - it's all go!

Right better get on with tidying round. Have a great day all.

    Good morning all,

Lainey have a wonderful time seeing the "Boss". He was here on Friday night and we only live 4 minutes from the Arena, so could hear some of the show. Evidently he was, as usual, wonderful, but the parking and the stewards were abysmal and it took people a long time to drive out of the area. According to our local paper some people had been camping here since the Wednesday to make sure they had a good place.

Thank you :) yes have just been reading about the problems some people had, our friends went but had the foresight to stay over and just had a walk back to their hotel.
My middle-aged legs are far too old to be standing in the middle for all those hours so we have seats, will probably only use them in the break but good to have all the same!

Good morning everyone and thanks NMLC for the thread . That must have been a nasty shock to find out about your colleague . I hope you get paint drying weather , have a good day .
TA Good to see you back and all seems well with your husband . Fingers crossed the electrics don't cost too much .
Camelot Have you ever tried the non alcoholic pimms from the 2015 MMM thread ? - among the recipes on page 1 . I haven't drunk alcohol for decades and I have been drinking that over the last week or so as it's not far from normal pimms but doesn't have the after effects .
Red Ruby Hope the weather stays good for your days off.
Lainey I have been a fan of the boss since he first appeared . I have never managed to see him live but hope you enjoy every second and dance your socks off for me too !
Jackie That is one bargain chicken . Your son in law sounds such a lovely man , enjoy the tv .
Candlelight I hope all is well with you all .
Csarina Glad to see you finally have the sun . I think Gers and I have had everyones share . Enjoy .

I haven't posted since Thursday so apologies if I've missed anyone . Will try to catch up later on the last few days . The past three days have been long and very busy , not helped by the heat and humidity but a lot was sorted medically and in other ways so it was worth the effort .
Weather is still the same , we worked out earlier this is probably day eleven . I wish I loved high heat and humidity but it just flattens me and the humidity has built each night so very little sleep has been possible . I am catching up on the laundry this morning and then doing very little .
I don't know if any one is a Casualty watcher - bit dated now but Charlie Fairhead and I have grown older together over the decades . I have not been watching any Saturday tv recently as apart from the above there is nothing that interests me . I sat down to watch last night and discovered it was nearly over as they had altered the time to allow a tribute to Ali . As the tv had only just been plugged in I had missed any warning of the change . I felt really cheated so catch up it is on the laptop which is not the same at all
    Have a good day all

Afternoon everyone, I hope you are all enjoying this love,y sunny Sunday.

I walked around the local car boot sale earlier, which is held in a gorgeous cricket ground, it was very pleasant. I also didn't come home with many things which is good really as I am meant to be de cluttering.

I have cleane a couple of Windows that needed doing badly. The frames and windowsills were dirty too so I gave them a good wash. I have recently bought a Windows vac and used that . It's meant to produce streak free Windows but I can still see a couple so I will see if my technique is correct before I decide what I think of it.

Just having a catch up with Casualty and then I have to make something for dinner. I really need to get organised with main meals.

Right I better crack on. Enjoy the rest of sunny Sunday people, hugs to those that need one.xx

Evening all - as Dixon used to say.

What another glorious day - even though I spent most of it driving to and from Glasgow. Mum and I sat outside for breakfast and chat and then set off about 11.30. The drive down was steady and the drive back slow. SO much traffic through Dumbarton and round Loch Lomond. There's a sign up where the accident was on Thursday and I read that it was an 86 year old motorcyclist who was killed when he hit two oncoming cars, so very sad.

I'm now doing the relaxing thing. I've eaten strawberries and cream and got a glass of wine twinkling at me.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their day, whatever it brought.

    Hi guys,
Lovely day today. I had a wobble yesterday. OH wasn't coming this weekend, but I was so exhausted trying to water the garden, empty the dishwasher and make myself something to eat that I had a total breakdown, bawling my head off. OH came up (200 miles) to take over for a while. :A

He's going back tonight, but I am starting a second day at the Hospice tomorrow, so will talk to my nurses there. My MS nurse thinks it's a relapse, so maybe it will go soon.

    Hope everyone is okay.

We have had a fabulous day, spent it living in the garden, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and supper enjoyed out in the sunshine. A little work did get done, but no heavy stuff. I repotted the azalea and put some cuttings in to see if they will root.

We came in after supper I wanted to watch the programme with !!!! Strawbridge and his new lady renovating a chateau in France. Looks like it will be an interesting programme.

I washed the quilt from our bed and also did a white wash and got everything dry.

I have caught the sun a bit, will have to watch that.

Oh I forgot, we went round to the chapel and got some elder flowers from the tree in the grounds of the chapel. I have made 5 pints of cordial which I will strain and bottle in a couple of days.
