Travel insurance

Hello! my friend bought tickets to UK via Visa and he was told he got travel insurance because of that. During his UK holidays he fell and almost broke his arm. He was given only a sling at the hospital and advised to book an appointment, but he got back home. Is there any benefit from the insurance?

Not sure how you expect anyone to answer that. No one else knows what his Visa insurance covers, except him and Visa.0 -
Does travel insurance give money when someone has a health issue during travel or only covers health costs?0

Possibly but he would need to read the T&Cs regarding the insurance given with his card or speak to whoever told him that "he got travel insurance because of that" There is no "book with a Visa card and be covered by travel insurance with benefits of x + y", any insurance offered will be specific to the card T&Cs.
Insurance often reimburses costs...did your friend incur any costs related to the injury?0 -
What is he thinking of claiming for? His arm was in a sling, has that prevented him doing anything that he had already paid for? Did he curtail his holiday and go home early (although I doubt if that would be covered unless it was agreed with the insurer first)?0

What on earth could he claim for?

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Where is he from? Did he have to pay at the hospital? Unless it's a substantial amount the excess on the policy will probably make a claim a waste of time, assuming it's covered at all,
As others have said he will need to read the small print and contact Visa in his home country.0
