I'm using confused.com to get a home insurance comparisson and I am a little confused...
I have camera equipment to insure in and away from home (camera body + lenses + accessories) and confused.com asks me to specify:
I'm really not sure if most insurers consider my kit one item or many (I keep it all in one bag) or whether it's a high value item with cover away from home or needs to be personal possessions?

- High value items over £1,000 and cover away from home: Yes / No (examples include photographic equipment)
- Personal possessions worth under £1,000 e.g. cameras (items you usually wear or take outside of the home each day)

If it's bought as a kit, then it's one item.
If the items are bought separately, then they're separate items.
The 2 options mean the same thing just one is if each item is more then £1K, and the second is if each item is less than £1K0 -
To add to that.
Try your best to keep the receipts and / or screen shot of web page and / or scan the receipts and upload them to the cloud / store them on your PC0 -
Likewise for my computer - I built the tower myself and bought the monitors separately, but examples seem to consider computers + monitors as one?0

Would you need to cover that away from the home though?0

No, sorry, that's just for the high value items worth over £1k question. Individually no, but together they cost over that.0 -
The top Q refers items over £1k AND cover away from the home.
The second Q refers to items under £1k away from the home.0
