Mortgage Life Insurance /Chronic illness

I would really appreciate a little advice - and hopefully some reassurance, too!

We have recently moved home and need to increase our mortgage life insurance. I have enquired with three providers so far and all are willing to insure, but with further enquiries needing to be made with my G.P.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with a chronic liver disorder and I am worrying about premiums for mortgage life insurance, which we obviously need whether ill or not.

Are there any moneysavers out there who have any long term/chronic/terminal illness and have managed to find a decent provider for their mortgage life insurance? What kind of monthly premiums can I be expecting to pay? We need £140k cover over 25 years. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What kind of monthly premiums can I be expecting to pay?

It will personally be priced based on your health. It doesnt matter what anyone else was priced as they are unlikely to be in the same position as you. You would need somone in the same occupation, same sum assured, same term, same age, same health and same smoker status.

Go to an IFA and get them to phone round the underwriters to find out who will offer best terms.

  • Thanks for that.

I am not looking for an exact figure.

What I am hoping for is a few people to let me know their own monthly premiums so I can either panic or breathe a sigh of relief! hehe
