Freeware equivalent to Corel Draw

I have been sent a logo file that requires Corel Draw to edit it. I do not want to buy this software. Is there an equivalent freebie that will allow me to open and edit the file.

It's a proprietary format which AFAIK hasn't been licensed to anyone else. So I don't think another (freeware) application exists that could properly edit it. Adobe Pagemaker I think can import it but again not freeware.

Installed Inkscape, but won't open/import CDR files (got some myself I could probably do with converting some time) unfortunately. Still a good app and will keep for the time being.

Unfortunately not a vector package. It's more the freeware equivalent of photoshop. Currently got it installed myself but I think something like inkscape is a good package to have in addition to it. Although I wonder why it worked for inmypocketnottheirs but not for me.
